I took my daughter to an art class that's close to Wrigley.
Thought I'd go by the old park and see what's happening.
Lots of construction guys around - they looked pretty busy.
All the cement in front is gone.
Around to the right field gate near the Harry statue, they've got those "paver" bricks with the messages on them. Looks like they sort of organized it with "chapters" named with famous Cubs so if you ever find your brick you can find it again.
This is the Gabby Hartnett section, and I also saw Brickhouse, Sandberg, Grace, and uh...Sosa.
We got my dad one for his birthday, so when he comes out this summer we can spend a morning looking for it.
I tried to look in that opening in right field, but it was blocked off.
When I walked back out front, the construction guys were on this lifter thing next to the Wrigley sign.
Had a panic attack and scrammed.
That whole name-change thing with the selling of the park...
I'm just in too good a mood with spring training to think about that.
Hey, did you read the TRIB this morning and see Billy Williams' quote about Fukudome?
Kosuke was taking his first batting practice as a Cub, and Billy says, "If I was him, I would swing through the first five pitches and scare the heck out of everyone."
LMAO.
