So, I've been reading about this interview for "60 Minutes".
Everybody says that Mike Wallace is a big fan of Roger Clemens.
Which is why Roger's people reached out to Mike's people to make this interview happen.
Because Roger can use him as a puppet.
This particular painting was inspired by the Rocket's legendary temper, not that his temper has
ever been "under the influence" of anything besides Lidocaine and B-12.
Swear?
Swear.
I flip flop almost every day over even caring about this whole steroid deal because it's all such a load of bad gas.
Yesterday I read an article on ESPN.com by Peter Gammons, who I'm sure you know is one of the good guys. The article was titled "Bart Giamatti and Integrity".
It's a good story about a guy from a different time.
But there was a fabulous bit of irony in ESPN's layout.
DIRECTLY BELOW Gammon's article were some "sponsored links" (which are paid ads that link you to whatever product they're selling).
One said, "DO HUMAN PHEROMONES WORK? Check out which ones actually attract women."
Another said, "FREE TEXAS HOLD'EM! Play in unlimited daily cash Hold'em tournaments!"
Both uh...whatever the opposite of integrity is.
Anyway, we're going to have to deal with this point in baseball history for what it is: the lying and cheating era.
I'm pissed about the cheating and it's effect on the game.
But the effect on America's youth?
I think the bigger crime is all the lying.
And Mr. Wallace, I truly do hope you ask some uncomfortable questions and don't come off like this painting.
But in reality this is a gossip piece.
The real show will be if Rocket accepts the Congressional invitation to tell the truth.
