I guess everything really is out the window this year.
I remember waaay back when Gary Barnett's NU team beat Notre Dame for the first time, and I felt a cosmic shift.
Yesterday's shift is just wrong, though.
No matter how awful they are, the Irish losing to Navy makes me feel unusual.
Like a green stop sign.
Okay, news of the Chicago Cubs...
Ward signing: good.
Interest in Schilling: good.
No interest in Trachsel: excellent.
I continue to be, well, not surprised but a little bummed at the continued Mark Prior-hating (at least among Cub fans I talk to).
We all assumed he was gutless, but neither you or I know how much pain the guy was really in, or for how long.
IF they actually fixed the shoulder...I keep going back to the Tom Seaver body-type comparisons.
So anyway, if he doesn't do something biscuit-headed with his contract, I'm excited to see what comes off the DL.
Like Wood last year, he's got alot of upside unless he becomes a team distraction.
I think he'll be smart enough to keep his mouth shut and just pitch.
And later, if he does well, I'll welcome whatever kind of "I told you so" he might unleash.
Just pitch, dude.
You owe us.
