Young Rich Hill looked a little...overmatched by future Hall of Famer Greg Maddux.
Grog and I met Sutter at our seats just a little late, so we missed the first Padre homer and it was already 2-nothin’ when we sat down.
The first out I saw from Maddux was the patented come-backer to him, the easy out.
He did the ground ball thing all day.
The Padre bats, however, were smokin’.
5 homers, and they all seemed to have men on base when they happened.
Just a bad day.
My brother Grog hadn’t been to Wrigley since ’05.
“It’s still the same.” he said.
I think he was referring to the team.
Oh well, I’m pretty Hill’s got a number of W’s yet to come this year, and (broken record talking) the division is so awful you can’t count the Cubs out.
If I can, I’m going to re-visit this weekend – I spent way more time going to Wrigley than drawing, and this weekend was as loony as they come.
Padres take the series, beating the Cubs 11-3 on Sunday and 1-0 on Saturday.
